Journaling Features
Write, format, save, recover, and revisit journal entries
Journaling Features
Be Here Meow provides a focused rich-text editor backed by local drafts and account synchronization.
Table of Contents
Writing and Formatting
Select text to open controls for bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, alignment, text color, and highlighting. The Add menu inserts ordered or unordered lists, quotes, dividers, and images.
The title and entry date can be edited separately. Include #tags and @mentions in the entry text to make them available as Entries filters.
Saving and Recovery
The journal stores work locally while you type. The save control reports the real draft state and opens the saved entry as soon as its content and ID are ready. Cloud synchronization, insights, and generated images can finish in the background.
If the network is unavailable, supported changes remain on the current device and retry after reconnection. A recovery choice appears only when local and server content differ meaningfully.
Images
Upload one GIF, JPEG, PNG, or WebP image up to 5 MB through the Add menu. An offline upload is queued for reconnection. The server verifies file size and type independently before storing it.
Generated entry imagery is a separate background job when an image provider is configured. Its progress or error appears on the entry without blocking saved content.
Entry Actions
From an entry detail page you can:
- switch between the Entry and Insights tabs;
- edit the entry in the journal;
- move to the previous or next entry;
- delete the entry permanently.
Entries can also be starred from supported browsing views and found through search and filters.
Export and Privacy
Account → Export Journal downloads cloud-synced entries as JSON while online. Locally unsynced drafts are not part of that server export.
Entries are scoped to the signed-in account and are not published as a social feed. See the Privacy Policy for the services that process journal data and the Data Management guide before deleting content.
