Search & Filters

Find entries with fuzzy text search and visible filters

Search & Filters

The Entries page searches the locally available journal catalog and combines that query with explicit filters.

Table of Contents

Enter a word or phrase in Search entries. Results are ranked with fuzzy matching across entry titles, content, tags, mentions, feelings, and needs. Search requires at least two meaningful characters, ignores letter case, and does not use a separate query language.

Clear the field to return to the current filtered catalog.

Filters

Open Filter entries to choose from the values available in the current catalog:

  • time ranges: past week, month, or year;
  • calendar months;
  • supported entry features such as starred entries or entries with dreams;
  • detected #tags;
  • detected @mentions.

Filters within a group can contain multiple selected values. Different groups are combined so an entry must satisfy each active group.

Clearing Filters

Each active filter appears as a labeled chip below the search bar. Its clearly marked remove control clears that value. Select Clear all to remove every active filter while preserving the current view.

If nothing matches, the empty state offers the same clearing action. List and timeline views show Load more entries only when the server reports another unfiltered page.

Shareable State

The search text, active filters, and selected list, timeline, or calendar view are represented in the Entries URL. Reloading or using browser history therefore preserves the browsing state.

Offline Behavior

Search and filters operate on the full entry catalog already available on the device. Changes made offline become searchable locally and synchronize with the account after reconnection.
