Write and save a first journal entry

Create Your First Entry

Table of Contents

Open the Journal

  1. Sign in to Be Here Meow.
  2. Select Journal in the main navigation.
  3. Enter an optional title and start writing.

The Journal navigation opens a fresh draft. Editing an existing entry happens only after you select its Edit control.

Format the Entry

Select text to reveal the formatting toolbar. Use it for emphasis, alignment, color, or highlighting. The Add menu inserts lists, quotes, dividers, and an image.

Add #tags or @mentions anywhere in the entry when you want them to appear as browsing filters later.

Add an Image

Choose Add → Image and select a GIF, JPEG, PNG, or WebP file up to 5 MB. If the network disappears, the app can retain the upload request and retry it after reconnection.

Save

Select the check button. The journal preserves the draft locally, synchronizes it with the account when possible, and opens the entry detail page as soon as the saved content and entry ID are ready.

The Entry tab shows the saved writing. The Insights tab shows analysis progress or completed reflections when the AI service is configured. Background work does not need to delay reading the entry.

If You See a Recovery Choice

The app found meaningfully different local and server versions of the same entry. Select Use server version to discard the local edit or Keep local draft to preserve and synchronize it. Identical normalized content should not prompt for a choice.
