Choose a Repeatable Moment
Attach journaling to something already in the day: morning coffee, the end of work, or winding down before bed. Put any reminder you need in the phone or calendar tool you already trust; Be Here Meow does not currently provide reminder notifications.
Start Smaller Than You Think
On a busy day, write one event, one feeling, and one next step. Longer writing can grow naturally after the routine feels easy. Missing a day is not a broken product state or a failed practice; begin again when useful.
Reduce Friction
- Bookmark Be Here Meow or add a browser shortcut.
- Keep the account signed in only on devices you control.
- Use the same general time and place when possible.
- Turn off unrelated notifications while writing.
- Let offline drafts synchronize later instead of abandoning an entry when the network drops.
Use the Calendar as a Record
The Entries calendar shows which dates contain entries. It does not calculate a formal streak, award milestones, or send reminders. You can still use the visible pattern for a weekly or monthly check-in:
- Which days felt easiest to write?
- Where were the long gaps?
- Would a smaller prompt make the next week more sustainable?
Keep a Fallback Prompt
Try one of these when the page feels blank:
- What am I noticing right now?
- What used my attention today?
- What do I want to remember tomorrow?
- What is one thing I can make easier?
The Prompts library offers more starting points.
Review Without Pressure
Use Entries search or Calendar to sample earlier writing. A regular review can reveal themes, but the app does not need to count words, streaks, or milestones for the habit to be meaningful.
